Why must all awesome sandwich joints launch in or around Chicago? Speaking of launching, Jimmy John’s a sandwich chain released a FREE app for the iPhone called Jimmy John’s Sandwich Cannon which allows you to launch one of their tasty looking sandwiches at a friend (via video or photo).

This sandwich launch can then be shared via Facebook, Twitter or email (hopefully Instagram won’t be far behind)!

The app lets users launch sandwiches (different varieties, mind you), as well as other clever objects like cash, cats, balloons, chips and ninja stars at unsuspecting victims caught in the cross hairs of an iPhone.

It will probably make users want a JJ sandwich — which leads to the app’s only problem: it doesn’t include any information on store locators or a link back to the Web site.

If you’re looking for a goofy way to kill time and make your friends laugh, this app is a good choice.  After all, if you know someone who doesn’t like delicious sandwiches thrown at their face, then it’s time to get new friends.
